Machine Learning for the Automated Selection and Reconstruction of Multi-Modal Nanotomography Data of Bone-Implant Interfaces
Supervisors: Dr. Imke Greving (Hereon), Dr. Berit Zeller-Plumhoff (Hereon), Dr. Christian Wilms (UHH), Prof. Simone Frintrop (UHH)

Benedict studied physics at Universität Hamburg. While studying he started getting interested in data science and machine learning. As DASHH fellow he works in close collaboration with two groups of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon and the Institute for Computational Systems Biology of the Universität Hamburg. All of which are located at DESY campus.
His current reasearch interest is X-ray imaging of biodegradable bone-implants at PETRA III. He explores machine learning for finding regions of interest in the images and for optimizing the scanning process.
