Towards Predictive Maintenance of European XFEL Facility Using Machine Learning and Software Engineering Techniques
Supervisors: Dr. Steve Aplijn (EuXFEL), Prof. Walid Maalej (UHH)

Amna received a bachelor's degree in mechatronics & control engineering and a master's degree in system engineering from Pakistan. During her thesis she studied machine learning methods for fault detection and developed a profound interest in data science. Following graduation, she has been working on design and development of control sytem for linear particle accelerator.
She joined DASHH in 2023 and her research focuses on data-driven predictive maintenance for accelerator controls. She is working on development of anomaly detection methods using machine learning and software engineering techniques to optimize the maintenance routines at large research facilities based on particle accelerators, such as European XFEL.
