Curriculum

Branch A encompasses all activities regarding knowlege gain. To this end, DASHH graduate researchers are eligible to attend all lectures and courses at the M.Sc. level at the DASHH partner universities. Besides the courses offered by DASHH, they can attend data science courses by the Helmholtz Association, the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy (HIDA), and the PIER Education Platform (PEP). The knowledge gain requirements might also be fulfilled by attendance to external courses, summer schools and workshops.

Transferable skills courses (Branch B) are offered by DASHH and various partners (PIER Education Platform, MIN Graduate Center at UHH, Graduate Academy for Technology and Innovation at TUHH, Hamburg Research Academy). They cover several courses and workshops in the following categories

Current research activities (Branch C) encompass the regular attention of the DASHH PhD Seminar and the Data Science Colloquium. In addtion, conference contributions and the attendance of lectures and talks will be acknowledged in this branch.

In general, teaching is not mandatory for DASHH graduate researchers. However, individual regulations at the institution of employment might apply. We highly encourage all DASHH doctoral candidates to engage in teaching activities such as thesis supervision, seminars, and workshops. These efforts will be acknowledged within DASHH by awarding the corresponding number of credit points.
