Protein flexibility plays a pivotal role in many bio-molecular processes. The development of the time-resolved X-ray temperature-jump methodology using an infrared laser to increase the temperature of the proteins within nanoseconds enables the subsequent analysis of the structural response of protein on the atomic level as function of time. The experimental data revealed structural changes for the used model proteins, RNaseA and Lysozyme. The goal is to reproduce this in vitro behavior with in silico methods, and gain new insights to develop a generic model predicting intrinsic protein flexibility.
