Call for Proposals

The DASHH Call for PhD Project Proposals 2025 is open now! Apply by June 9th, 2025.

DASHH supports interdisciplinary PhD project proposals focusing on data science in research areas related to the structure of matter supervised by researchers at DESY, hereon, HZI, UHH, TUHH, HSU, HAW, EuXFEL, or MPSD. Eligible DASHH projects are at the interface between domain sciences (photon science, particle physics, accelerator science, materials science, or structural biology) and computer science or applied mathematics. The projects should be challenging and motivating for both sides so that both groups will actively supervise the doctoral candidate over the entire project duration. All projects at the DESY, hereon, HZI, UHH, TUHH, and HSU are funded by 50% by DASHH for three years. All co-funded projects should be supervised by at least one researcher affiliated with one of our partner Helmholtz centers (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, Helmholtz Zentrum hereon, Helmholtz Center for Infection Research HZI).

Follow these steps and submit your proposal by June 9th, 2025.
