This project investigates the statistics of applications on modern machine learning in experimental particle physics in a collaboration between mathematics (Prof. Mathias Trabs) and physics (Prof. Gregor Kasieczka). After a first investigation of the amplification properties of generative networks, the candidate is currently studying how to quantify uncertainties on individual network outputs.
