Advanced Simulation Methodology for Optimizing Aerodynamic Lenses used for Single-Particle Diffractive Imaging
Supervisors: Prof. Michael Breuer (HSU), Prof. Philipp Neumann (HSU), Prof. Jochen Küpper (DESY/UHH), Prof. Muhamed Amin (DESY)

Surya holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering (SRM University, India) and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden). His experience includes working with high fidelity CFD modelling (finite volume method) and also Lagrangian-based methods such as Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH).
In his current research project, he will bundle innovative multiscale simulation methodologies and data analysis, both supported by High Performance Computing (HPC), to enable physically more reliable predictions of the processes taking place in the injection systems of SPI. Further, the goal is to understand and extend the application range of aerodynamic lens system (ALS) and Single Particle Diffractive Imaging by making use of data generated through these simulations.
