Using Prior Knowledge for the Solution of Ill-Posed Inverse Problems in X-Ray Microscopy
Supervisors: Prof. Christian Schroer (DESY, UHH), Dr. Johannes Hagemann (DESY), Prof. Tobias Knopp (TUHH),

Johannes Dora attended the dual studies program at the University of Technology Hamburg and received his Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2015. During his master studies, he developed a strong interest for computational imaging and the solution of ill-posed inverse problems. For his project work and master thesis, Johannes joined the group of Tobias Knopp at the UKE where he worked on imaging reconstruction algorithms for Magnetic Particle Imaging and Magnetic Resonance Tomography.
After his studies, he worked as a software developer in the IT Security sector and focused on the development of software hardening techniques.
Johannes is currently working at the PETRA III synchrotron radiation source. The brilliance of PETRAs X-ray radiation offers the opportunity to investigate very small samples with a resolution down to the nanoscale. In his PhD Project Johannes researches on improving imaging algorithms for X-ray in-line holography in the Fresnel region.
