Jörn studied physics at the Universität Hamburg, where he completed his Master's thesis in 2022 on Generative Neural Networks for cosmological simulations.

His PhD project includes the search for heavy Higgs bosons and axion-like particles, which are both related to dark matter. To find the particles in the vast amount of Large Hadron Collider (LHC) data, he will be developing and employing novel machine learning methods, mainly focused on deep neural networks.
